color blends
i had a recent inquiry asking me how to make color blends. color blends are something i sort of came up with just messing around with masking in photofiltre one day, that's why you don't see them around on other sites. i liked how they came out so i decided to put them in the site, and release my creative genious to the new world. haha.
in all actuality they are simple to make. i've not made any in photoshop yet, so as of this moment this tutorial is for photofiltre users. first take a single picture, several pictures, or any number in between. it doesn't matter. then open up a new document that is a big size so you can compile all the pictures you are using onto the one canvas. second take the pictures you are using then turn them into black and white. then just copy the picture you are using, pic a cool color to turn it into. next go to the new canvas and click on the edit menu in the top left corner and chose the option that says paste special > mask. the picture should appear masked in whatever color you had chosen. now just position the picture wherever you would like on the canvas, left click and validate paste. do this as many times you want, with as many colors and or pictures you'd like!
tip: for a smooth look, use pictures that have the background cut out, such as psds and pngs, or cut the background out of your favorite picture to use yourself! (: & for some creative genious, flip and rotate pictures and use them to create a unique look.
